TÜBİTAK 1007- Support Program for Research Projects of Public Institutions
Within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1007- Research Projects of Public Institutions, a call that “Increasing Access of the Visually Impaired to Education with Braille Screen Reading and Note-Taking Device” was opened. It is aimed to provide equal opportunities in education by facilitating the access of the visually impaired students to education, and to provide easier access to information in social and business life for all visually impaired people.
Objectives of the call:
- To increase the access of visually impaired students with special needs in education within the Ministry of National Education starting from primary school,
- Supporting the adaptation of the visually impaired students involved in the inclusion processes at all levels,
- Development of literacy tools used in the educational process,
- Increasing the competencies of teachers who provide education to visually impaired individuals,
Two stages application, to serve the purpose of the customer institution MEB, aimed to support the project on “Producing domestic devices in the market domestically and cost-effectively”.
Target Output: Braille Screen Reading And Note-Taking Device
The hardware and software components of the Braille Screen Reading and Note-Taking Device to be developed within the scope of the project are expected to be determined so that the device sales price is approximately 800 Euros.
Project Duration: Up to 15 months
