PRIMA 2023 Call

The 2023 call for the PRIMA Program (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area), which will support multilateral projects on water management, food systems and agri-food value chain themes in the Mediterranean region, is open to applications.

 

Eligible Applicants:

The consortium that will take part in the international project calls to be opened within the scope of the PRIMA should include researchers participating from at least 4 different legal entities from at least 3 different countries.

  • At least 1 legal entity must be established in an EU Member State or a third country associated to Horizon 2020 and not being a Mediterranean Partner Country (MPC): Germany, France, Portugal, Croatia, South Cyprus, Greece, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, and Slovenia.
  • At least 2 different legal entities* must be established in a third country bordering the Mediterranean Sea (MPC): Türkiye, Algeria, Jordan, Israel, Tunisia, Morocco, Lebanon and Egypt.
  • At least 1 legal entity must be established in one of the PRIMA participating countries.

 

*The 2 different legal entities may be from the same or different third country which is bordering the Mediterranean Sea (MPC): Türkiye, Algeria, Jordan, Israel, Tunisia, Morocco, Lebanon and Egypt.

  

Projects to be Supported:

Projects to be supported within the scope of PRIMA Program are divided into 2 Sections.

 

  • Project proposals submitted under Section 1 will be supported by PRIMA allocated funding from the HORIZON 2020 Programme. Applications under Section 1 of the PRIMA Program must be made only to PRIMA.

  • Project proposals submitted within the scope of Section 2, will be supported by the funds that the national funding agencies have committed to PRIMA, without the contribution of the EU. In the framework of the Section 2, in addition to the joint application to the PRIMA Program, research teams in project consortia are required to apply to their national funding agencies.

Project proposals to be submitted from Türkiye within the scope of the PRIMA Program will be supported within the scope of 1071 Program. 

 

Budget: Up to 2,500,000 TL per institution (excl. overhead and Project Incentive Premium (PIP))
