TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM Signed the First “Read & Publish” Agreement at the National Level with Wiley Publishing

TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, within the scope of the EKUAL (Electronic Resources National Academic License) Project, makes national license agreements and studies with the world's leading publishers and database producers in order to ensure effective and widespread access to electronic information resources with academic content by our country's research institutions and to enable national and international scientific publication production. 

In this context, TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM signed the first national-level “Read & Publish” agreement which has developed as a new model in scientific journal publishing and is becoming increasingly widespread in the world. With this agreement signed with Wiley Publishing in February 2023 to cover the period 2023-2025, all universities in Turkey will be able to access approximately 1400 e-journals of Wiley Publishing.

However, it will be possible to publish “Open Access” articles such as Research Articles, Review Articles, Data Articles and Rapid Publications that have been accepted for publication in Q1 and Q2 group journals from articles addressed to Turkey in Wiley Hybrid and Gold journals (except Hindawi) without paying any Article Processing Charge (APC). The agreement will increase the visibility and influence of scientific publications in our country. With the annual open access quotas within the scope of the agreement, it will be ensured that more than half of the publications made in Wiley magazines from Turkey will be open access.

In order to provide access to scientific publications and research data as soon as they are published, publications produced from projects supported by TÜBİTAK are required to be uploaded to the Turkish Open Archive Aperta.
