Interreg NEXT Mediterranean Basin Program 2021-2027 Period First Call for Proposals

The Managing Authority of the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, financed by the European Union, announced the first call for project proposals in agreement with the representatives of 15 participating countries. The call offers the opportunity to support cross-border cooperation projects with a significant budget and aims to promote sustainable and inclusive development in the Mediterranean region.

 

The project call aims to make the region smarter, more competitive, greener, climate resilient, and more social and inclusive. Themes to be supported in this context:

  • Promoting SME Growth
  • Developing Renewable Energy Solutions
  • Strengthening Climate Change Adaptation Measures
  • Promoting Educational Opportunities
  • Ensuring Access to Quality Health Services
  • Improving Local Government Processes

 

The geographical scope of the call includes more than 100 regions in total from 7 EU and 8 partner countries: Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus, Greece, France, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain and Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia and Turkey.

 

Applications to the call can be made by consortia from at least 3 different eligible countries, including at least one Mediterranean Partner Country. National and regional public authorities, municipalities, non-profit/non-governmental organizations, universities, research centers, private companies and other relevant organizations can apply for the call.

 

Budget: 2.5 Million Euros

Project Duration: 24 - 36 Months
