Our University’s collaborative project “Industry 4.0 Competence Center”, which was developed in collaboration with White Goods Suppliers Association (BEYSAD) and the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD), has been awarded with funding within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Programme.
The project “Digital Transformation of SMEs in Turkey through Establishment of the Industry 4.0. Competence Center” presented under the “Manufacturing Industry” category was selected among the priority projects to receive funding for the second phase of the Competitive Sectors Programme run by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, the General Directorate of European Union and Foreign Affairs, and the EU Financial Programs Department.
The project application was submitted by BEYSAD. The collaborative project is intended to build an Industry 4.0 Competency Center within our University which would cater to all entrepreneurs and companies, particularly SMEs. The center will make significant contributions to reduce the challenges that stand before the Industry 4.0 transformation of SMEs, ensure the sustainability of the Industry 4.0 transformation, improve efficiency in manufacturing processes, promote competitiveness, and strengthen the integration of SMEs with the value chain in manufacturing.
To this end, the center will address how the Industry 4.0 techniques should be used to make sure that this significant sector stands strong before global competition. The experiences obtained during these studies will further be promoted across all of the real manufacturing sectors.
