UN Awarded OzU EVATEG Center with a New Research Program

EVATEG is funded by UNDP under Market Transfromation of Energy Efficient Appliances in Turkey Grant Program.

EVTV project aims for rapid transformation and adoption of energy efficient television technologies, raising public awareness about energy efficiency, environmental conservation, and climate change, establishing an active task group from academia-government-industry to enhance the amount of academic research and improve the quality of current research activities.

EVTV Project will be executed with the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Arık (EVATEG Director), Asst. Prof. Dr. Celal Sami Tüfekçi (Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi) and Kıvanç Karslı (VESTEL AŞ), and it will expand the EVATEG center’s activities beyond LED/OLED lighting Technologies to advanced TV Technologies Research and Development, education and demonstration Turkey and it will be the first center working about TV technologies. Unfortunately, there is a limited number of companies in Turkey working on EVTVs. The proposed project is in accordance with UNDP program focusing on the activities for energy efficient TV technologies resulting a decrease in energy consumption and positive impact on environment. The primary objectives of this project may be summarized as;

Introducing EVTV technologies to people rapidly and effectively under the leadership of EVATEG. Especially via the use of LEDOID mobile technology center, educating people on EVTV systems for people from all ages groups.

Introducing educational activities at Ozyegin University about “Energy Efficient TV Technologies” and growing awareness among public, scholars, and industry members.

OzU EVATEG LEDOİD center will accept visitors starting on March 15, 2014. It will present advanced TV technologies as well as LED/OLED technologies and help to grow public awareness.
