Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) Call 2024

 

The purpose of this Call for proposals is to support transnational research and/or innovation projects addressing urban challenges to help cities in their transition towards a more sustainable economy and functioning. The challenges are grouped into three themes called ‘Transition Pathways’: Circular Urban Economies, 15-minute City and Positive Energy Districts.

  1. 15-Minute City (15mC) Transition Pathway
  • Advancing urban mobility: innovations for inclusive and youth-centric mobility systems
  • Reconsidering urban mobility systems: towards system innovation and proximity policies for sustainable city regions
  • Evidence for the urban mobility transition: data and indicators for effective decision-making
  1. Positive Energy Districts (PED) Transition Pathway
  • Local PEDs in a multi-level perspective
  • Towards the climate-neutral city: PEDs, system integration and urban strategies
  • Managing the urban energy transition: data management and decision support systems
  1. Circular Urban Economies (CUE) Transition Pathway
  • Creating a new paradigm for urban water cycles
  • Circular models for regenerating, repurposing, protecting and conserving urban space for biodiversity
  • Multi-city strategies for circular urban economy monitoring and management

Submission of the preliminary project proposal: Project consortium members interested in the same call come together and apply for the preliminary project.

 

The international referee board scores the projects.

 

Highly scoring preliminary project proposals are invited to submit a full project proposal.

Each project partner in the international consortium applies to the funding agency of its own country (TUBITAK for Turkey) in accordance with the institution's procedures and undergoes eligibility checks.

Successful consortiums with preliminary proposals that qualify to proceed to the 2nd Stage present their comprehensive projects (full proposal).

 

The international referee board scores the projects.

All partners of the projects successfully selected in the 2nd stage of the International Phase apply directly to the relevant funding agency of their country (TÜBİTAK for Turkey) for the national phase and receive their funds from the relevant organization.

The project coordinator, researchers, and consultants involved in the project team, as well as other rights holders outside the project team and all authorized officials of the coordinating/participating institution/organization, must possess a qualified e-signature.  Researchers/consultants abroad are exempt from e-signature.
