This year's application process has started for the YÖK Outstanding Achievement Awards, which have been given by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) since 2017. The awards will be given in 12 different categories under four different headings: individual, corporate, private field and private.
- Under the Individual Awards, the Doctoral Thesis of the Year Award will be given in four different categories: Science and Engineering Sciences, Fine Arts and Architecture, Health and Sports Sciences, and Social and Human Sciences. Applications for these awards will be made jointly by the thesis holder and the thesis advisor for the doctoral dissertations completed within the previous year. With these awards, it is aimed to draw attention to the importance of teacher-student joint success.
- Under the Corporate Awards, there are five categories: Digital Transformation and Big Data Studies, Social Responsibility, International Cooperation, University-Business Cooperation and Local Development Contribution Award. Applications for these awards will be made by higher education institutions. With the awards, it is aimed to encourage and disseminate the innovative studies and good practice examples of higher education institutions completed in the previous year.
- Special Field Awards will be given in the categories of National Innovation Award and Science Diplomacy Award. Applications will be made by the author of the study. The studies to be applied for must have been carried out and completed by the instructor in the year preceding the year of application. With the awards to be given in this category, it is aimed to encourage the studies of the lecturers in the field of national innovation and science diplomacy, which are considered as a priority for the interests of higher education and the country.
- The Special Award will be given to scientists who have made significant contributions to education and science with their studies as the Service to Science and Student Award. No applications will be sought for this award.
