The Consulate General of Sweden in Istanbul has been operating since 2001 to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries by providing funding opportunities. This support is driven by the results-oriented strategy of Sweden's reform cooperation with the Western Balkans and Turkey, 2021-2027. You can find the strategy plan here.

The Project Topics Specifically For 2024:

  • Human rights, especially the right to freedom of expression and works that promote democratic participation and accountability.
  • Studies that increase the participation and influence of women and girls in decision-making processes at all levels and in all sectors, and create an environment in which they can make their voices heard.
  • Work to strengthen a pluralistic civil society against social polarization and discrimination.
  • Studies that create opportunities for young people's democratic participation.
  • Studies that strengthen labor and human rights in the workplace.

The Consulate General of Sweden in Istanbul aims to encourage collaborations between different institutions and sectors, and also places particular importance on the existence of projects operating in various regions of Turkey.
