The Invention Co-Developed by Prof. Dr. M. Pınar Mengüç Receives Triadic Patent

The invention “Flow System for Avoiding Particle Agglomeration”, which was co-developed by Prof. Dr. Pınar Mengüç, Director of the Center for Energy, Environment and Economy (CEEE) at Özyeğin University, was registered by three major international patent offices, and took its place among the fewer than 20 triadic patents in Turkey.

Previously registered by the European Patent Office (EPO) (EP3365627B1) and Japanese Patent Office (JPO) (JP6559363B2), the invention has also recently been issued a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) following a patent application filed jointly by Özyeğin University and Sabancı University. Co-developed with the contributions of Prof. Ali Koşar and Prof. Kürşat Şendur from Sabancı University, the invention which proposes an innovative system to prevent nanoparticle agglomeration in a flow restrictor has been granted the prestigious triadic patent title after being registered by three major patent offices. The invention is expected to pave the way for long-term use of nanoparticles in various industrial applications.
