ÖzÜ Mechanical Engineering Department Launches a 2.3 Million TL Budgeted Project Supported by Tübitak on Future Low Emission Diesel Engine along with Ford Otosan

 

 

ÖzÜ Mechanical Engineering Department and Ford Otosan R&D which performs the most essential and  farreaching activities in the R&D field of Turkish automotive industry, will jointly develop subsystems for diesel engines in which toxic gas emissions are sub-standards. In this project, the subjects of fluid mechanics, system supervision, optical measurement systems, material design and manufacturing technologies will be worked on together and,  designing and testing of key aspects will be developed. The project will be carried out by Asst. Prof. Özgür Ertunç, along with Ass. Prof. Özkan Bebek (researcher), Asst. Prof. Güney Güven Yapıcı (researcher), Prof. Pınar Mengüç (advisor), Prof. Orhan Alankuş (advisor, Okan University) and Ford-Otosan engineers will provide support. With this 2.3 million TL budgeted project, 4 PhD and many graduate and undergraduate students will be trained. For the testing of developed equipments ,new  testing mechanisms which will be the first in Turkey will be developed.
