The First EUREKA project of ÖzU: TICKOTEX!

We are proud to announce that the first EUREKA project of Ozyegin University, “TICKOTEX” has been approved.

The main objective of the project is the development of novel multifunctional textile structures that include biological active compounds extracted from plants, to prevent the spreading of infectious diseases like Borreliosis and other tick-borne bacterial diseases.

The project will be lead by an international consortium including Romania, Turkey and Czech Republic. The activities in Turkey’s side will be undertaken by Ozyegin University – Kıvanc Textile Inc., and managed in the leadership of Asist. Prof. Bahar Başım. The amount of the project budget is 1.5 M Euro. One-third of the total budget belongs to Turkey.

“TICKOTEX” project is a good example of the best practices of university-industry parnerships. Kıvanç Textile Inc. has been awarded by Adana University Industry Joint Research Center for winning this EUREKA project.
