Main Points to Consider in TÜBİTAK ARDEB Program Applications

This short facilitating document presents the main points to be considered before, during and after project applications to TÜBİTAK ARDEB (Academic Research Funding Program Directorate) programs. You can click the hyperlinks above the text for all other information and details.

Before Application:

ARBİS Registration: Project coordinators, researchers, and consultants (including foreign researchers/consultants) must have ARBİS registration. Resumes are automatically generated by the system based on ARBİS information.

Electronic Signature: The project coordinator, researchers, and consultants involved in the project team, as well as other rights holders outside the project team and all authorized officials of the coordinating/participating institution/organization, must possess a qualified electronic certificate.  Researchers/consultants abroad are exempt from e-signature.

Residence Requirement: Project coordinators and researchers must reside in Turkey.

Conditions and Limits for Participation in Projects: In case the limits for participating in projects are exceeded, the project coordinator, researcher, and consultant cannot participate. Multiple project applications to the same program in the same period are not allowed. The same project proposal cannot be applied to multiple programs.

Special Rejection Case: If a previous application has been made to TÜBİTAK with the same project proposal and received insufficient scores twice in the original evaluation criteria, the same project proposal cannot be submitted for the third time.

Similarity: Expressions in the project text should not contain similarities with expressions in previously submitted (including concluded/ongoing projects) projects. Individuals in the project team should not have ongoing/concluded or proposed projects with the same/similar content submitted to TÜBİTAK or a different institution/organization.

 

During Application:

Completion of Application Steps: The steps in the Project Application System (PBS) must be completed in full by the specified date, and the updated Application Form and Appendices must be filled in Turkish* and uploaded to the application system in the requested format (*English can be used if there is a foreign national in the project team).

Foreign Researcher Information Form: If there is a foreign researcher in the project team, the requested information in the electronic application system (reason for inclusion in the project and contribution to the project, duration of participation in the project, monthly gross salary abroad, travel expenses) must be completed in full.

Approval of Application and Completion of E-Signature Process: The documents during the project application must be filled out completely and uploaded to the system, and the electronic application must be approved, and the electronic signature process must be completed.

 

After Application:

After the decision to support the project, if necessary;

The Intellectual Property Ownership Protocol must be prepared, and the wet signatures of the relevant individuals must be present in the protocol.

Ethical, Legal, and Special Permission Documents must be submitted by the specified deadline.

Proforma Invoice: Proforma invoices for requested machinery-equipment and service procurement expenses must be submitted.
